NuvaPro™ contains Lactobacillus fermentum PCC®, a unique, patented, single-strain probiotic. Lactobacillus fermentum PCC® or PCC® is one of the best researched probiotics in the world. The mucous membranes covers the respiratory and digestive tracts and the urogenital tracts as well as the eye conjunctiva and the inner ear. These mucosal areas are endowed with powerful mechanical and chemical proective mechanisms that degrade and repel most foreign matter.
Unlike the blood circulation which relies on the antibody immunoglobulin G (Ig G) to ward of infections, the mucosal immune system is protected by a different antibody called immunoglobulin A (Ig A) which is found at all mucosal sites and its secretions e.g. nose - mucus.
